Before 36 year-old Adam Longoria faced a judge and the Debolt family on Tuesday in a court room, where he was charged with criminal sodomy and capital murder in the death and burning of 14 year-old Alicia DeBolt, he hid his face from a video camera while offering the world his speculations about the teen's disappearance.

Alicia DeBolt disappeared August 21, after leaving her house around 11pm with who DeBolt's mother believed to be Alicia's 19 year-old ex-boyfriend. It is uncertain whether the mother actually saw the ex-boyfriend, but she did report that her daughter left in a black SUV, the same type of car owned by Longoria's live-in "wife." Alicia's charred remains were located days later at an asphalt plant that coincidentally employed Longoria.

When Longoria became a person of interest in the case, he claimed that he'd only met the 14 year-old once after being introduced to her by the 19 year-old in question. He indicated that Alicia would text him for rides, but he'd never give her any. In an interview with KCWH News, Longoria claimed not to have had any contact with DeBolt the day of her disappearance; however, he told KSN news that the 19 year-old had directed him to text a certain phone number about a party at Longoria's house. Longoria claimed that at that time, he unwittingly texted Alicia; however, he maintained that he'd never seen her the night of August 21st. It is unclear whether Longoria actually had a party at his house; however, his neighbor, Gerald Martin told KSN news that he was at the party and had met Alicia there. Longoria claims there was no party at his house.

Adam Longoria, who has a long history of criminal behavior and had been released from a Texas prison just this summer, claimed that a frightened friend of his asked him for $2,000 to help the friend escape police questioning. Longoria stated that his attorney had advised him not to get involved unless questioned by the police about the friend. Longoria told KCWH news:

"But as for the gentlemen calling me asking me for money cause he wants to leave town, that gives me a big suspicion about his part because if you’re not innocent, what have you got to hide? You know, it don’t make a difference what you say about me. I’m not the one running. I stay at home, come home every night. So, if he’s asking me for money, then you know, it kind of puts a doubt in my mind, so…"

After police searched his home, Longoria stole a vehicle from his place of employment and allegedly attempted to leave town. He was caught after a lengthy police chase reminiscent of O.J. Simpson.

In addition to the tip about his friend, Longoria also indicated that gangs might have been involved in DeBolt's disappearance and murder. When asked about his whereabouts the night of Alicia's disappearance, Longoria asserted that his alibi could be verified. He claimed to have gone to a club with friends at the time Alicia left her house, but club staff did not recall seeing him there.

Longoria currently sits in jail with a $1.5 million bond.
